Kara Tavolacci, MA, OTR/L, C-SIPT, graduated from New York University with a Masters in Occupational Therapy. She specializes in pediatrics and has experience working with children from birth to adolescence. Kara has a strong background in sensory integration and listening techniques. In 2006, she expanded her pediatric practice and became a Registered and Certified Tomatis Consultant.
Kara has completed numerous continuing education courses that along with clinical experience have helped develop her therapeutic technique. Some of those courses include The Alert Program for Self Regulation, Handwriting without Tears, Listening with The Whole Body, and Visual/Vestibular Assessment & Treatment. She has taken numerous Floortime/DIR classes and has obtained her SIPT (Sensory Integration & Praxis Testing) certification as well.
Kara is a member of AOTA (American Occupational Therapy Association), IARCTC (International Association of Registered Certified Tomatis Consultants) and ICDL (Interdisciplinary Council on Development and Learning Disorders).
Kara has worked in Manhattan for pediatric clinics, special education pre-schools and a certified Tomatis center. She recently relocated to Westchester, New York and has worked in White Plains and the surrounding areas both in clinic and school settings. She holds state licenses in New York, Connecticut and New Jersey. Kara is currently the founder and clinical director of TOTS for Kids Therapy Services, a certified Tomatis center and Occupational Therapy Clinic.
